This place is pretty good. It's slightly pricey a diner tho the food is always very good. They have lots of variety including steak, sandwich, and salad. We came mostly for the seafood. The portions are very generous!! I had cod, catfish, and walleye. The fish were good. The prawns were only so so. The cheddar chowder was not very strong cheese flavor so it was quite enjoyable. Service was very fast and friendly. It's a very nice family dinner. We came mid morning on a Monday and it was still pretty busy. A great place for brunch, dinner, or quick bite to eat and take break on your way to or from the awesome museum of honest Abe! This is my second time so I'll definitely come back. This is your classic neighborhood family restaurant. Good solid food, reasonable prices you will never see in national chains. Save some room as their pies and cheesecakes are very good.
We like going to Diamond's for breakfast when we are in Decatur. The restaurant is clean, everyone is super friendly, and the menu has something for everyone. Coffee was topped off religiously and one order of orange juice is gigantic! On this visit, I ordered the chicken and waffle. The waffles were buttery and delicious, and the chicken tenders were fried to perfection. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meal. I'll have to make room to try something from the massive dessert case next time. Definitely check out Diamond's for a nice comfy meal if you are in the Decatur area.
Yelp is the first thing I do when visiting a new town and it did not disappoint for breakfast. Followed recommendations for Diamond's Family Restaurant. Wasn't too busy at 7:30 am on a Sunday morning. We were seated right away and our server Jessica was there quickly taking our drink order. They have a huge menu to choose from. I went with a bacon omelette as omelettes were recommended from other reviews. Omelette did not disappoint. It was fluffy with tons of bacon. So good!! Ordered crispy hashbrowns, which were perfect. Hubs ordered eggs, bacon and pancakes. Pancakes were huge, size of the plate. They were very good. Lastly we had a half order of biscuits and sausage gravy. I judge breakfast places on their B&G, which is the only reason this review isn't 5. Gravy was good. Biscuit was a little undercooked. By the time our food came, the place was hoppin. You could tell this is a place frequented by regulars. Servers knew the patrons and what they order. Love homey places like this. If you're ever in the area and want breakfast, this is your place. Oh and our server Jessica was awesome. She kept checking to see how we were and if we needed anything. Thanks Jessica for making our first visit a great one!
They are a clean well managed mom and pop place with great service and a big selection of meals offered. The food is very good and serving size is plenty.
Never had a bad experience here!! The owner and the staff all take pride in this place! They have remodeled and the place is bright and clean looking. The food is always good, the skillets are huge, pancakes are huge! The serve lunch and dinner but for some reason we just always go for breakfast it seems like! Their desserts are

I stopped for lunch at 12:30 pm on a Monday and the place was packed. I was greeted and seated right away, and my server came right over and took my drink order. This is a large place and was well kept. The menu was large and there should be something for everyone on there. The prices seemed reasonable. I ordered off the Monday Specials menu, the Beef Manhattan with mashed potatoes and soup (cheesy bacon). After ordering my server brought me the soup and a cracker basket. The soup was not my type, it didn't have much flavor and the bacon was soft and not cooked. I still was hopeful for my meal, maybe I just ordered the wrong soup. My server brought me my meal, and everything looked good. The beef was tender, and the gravy was tasty. The mashed potatoes tasted homemade and were really good. I would definitely come back again, I thought it was good value for the money!
